Unbelievably it’s 30 years since the Clash released London Calling, and it sounds as fantastic today as it did then. Some people say it’s the greatest album ever made.
Rolling Stone magazine wrote at the end of the 1980’s London Calling was “an emergency broadcast from rock’s Last Angry Band, serving notice that Armageddon was nigh, Western society was rotten at the core, and Rock & Roll needed a good boot in the rear, 19 songs of apocalypse fueled by an unbending faith in rock & roll to beat back the darkness” – You can’t argue with that!
We’re very lucky to have a copy of the album on vinyl (original uk pressing) which is for sale at £15.
If you are stuck for ideas this Valentines day, why not buy your loved one something unique this year instead of the traditional chocolates or flowers?

Featured this month (image attached) is a vintage Cathrineholm enamel bowl designed in the 1950’s by Norwegian designer Grete Prytz Kittelsen.
